Promise Badge Prayers and Reflections!

As part of the requirements for the Promise badge, we asked the Explorers to write a personal prayer and a reflection as to what it means to be an explorer. Here are a few prayers and reflections.

I promise to do my best to help someone when they are in need, to obey God's rules, to not curse, to not seek revenge. I will try my best at everything even when it's really tuff, I will keep on trying. I will keep on trying to get what I want in the future, for example, I want to be come a movie actor when I grow up, I want to get married and have children. I will try my best to follow the footsteps of God. With all my heart, with all my soul. I will try my best. Amen.

Dear God, I thank you for what I have. I would love you to help us your brothers and sisters to not commit sin anymore and be more like you. We want to help others and be there when we are most needed. Help those people that are dying and that passed away so that their souls could be with you in your paradise. I want to pray for everyone that needs you and I pray for peace in the world. Thank you for good parents that take good care of me and a sister that also cares too.

Reflection on being an Explorer:

Dear Lord, help me see you in the people around me even if they are not being nice to me, help me understand that it is better to serve others than to be served, help me learn how to pray well and often to you each and every day. I love you with all my mind, heart and soul!

From what I can say, our Federation of North American Explorers is truly a magnificent group of youth and volunteers. This benevolent association provides warmth and lessons on Catholic beliefs, combined with fun, and more fun. From what most of us will know, many teenagers do not like the sound of idea of taking a whole seminar of bible studies and I am among them. However, at Exolorers, Catholicism and Fun is mélanged, bringing many people a dream that they can be very enthusiastic and learn about God, Jesus and the Virgin Mary. Although I have not been an Explorer very long, I can foresee the recreation that will be offered in being an Explorer. An example is when I went to Camp Endobanah, a campsite in Northern Ontario that offers the fellow boy to escape the urban lifestyles of a supercity and enjoy the tranquilness of nature. One can certainly enjoy oneself to the full extent with a clear and crisp lake right next to your cabin and with fresh food delivered right to you mouth. There is no word to say it then, Marvellous.

One does not have to go far, at our weekly meetings, we also participate in fun activities and games, as well as learning to become a good person or man, on our planet. I must say candidly that every week, I have learned something new and that something new cannot be achieved outside of this movement.

However, this is my opinion and my word, it is always the best idea to experience it first hand, so I strongly encourage to you to see what we do, and lastly, BE PREPARED !
